BLENDS

We produce our fabrics in small batches. This gives us the possibility to control carefully the quality of the woven fabric and to create different blends asked by our customers. Here is some information about the common fibers we use.

Organic Cotton (GOTS certified)

The most widely used natural fibre cloth in the world. But also the most intensive pesticide-use crop in the world, accounting for approximately 25% of all insecticides used worldwide.

This is why all our products are based only on GOTS-certified organic cotton. The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is recognized as the world’s leading processing standard for textiles made from organic fibers. It defines high-level environmental criteria along the entire organic textiles supply chain and requires compliance with social criteria as well.

Cotton is soft, easy to care for and extremely unlikely to irritate the skin. Cotton is particularly breathable and cool. Cotton wraps are not usually the most supportive but they are good basic wraps and easy to handle from the beginning.

Merino

Our merino is the extra fine Italian merino wool called cashwool. Cashwool is shiny like silk and soft like cashmere. Merino wool is breathable and feels pleasant on skin. It is one of the softest natural fibers. Thanks to its thermoregulating properties it suits perfectly for cold chilly winter climate and for warmer climates as well. Exceptionally soft and lightweight.

The merino we use is produced in compliance with a global quality that involves the product, the people, the environment.

Linen

Linen blend wraps are often recommended for those looking for a supportive wrap. Linen is amazingly popular, many of the most highly sought after woven wraps are linen blends. Linen has been cultivated for over 10,000 years and is made from the fibres of the flax plant. The longer the flax used, the finer and less coarse the linen will feel.

Often linen blend wraps can be tough to break in, but they are worth it. They break in to be buttery soft and usually have a silky soft quality to them. Linen is a strong and supportive fibre, this is why we combine it with a high quality organic cotton.

Linen is smooth and cool to the touch. Its coolness, and its ability to gain up to 20% moisture without feeling damp to the touch, makes it ideal for wearing in warmer weather. It is one of the few fibres that is stronger when wet than when dry.

Linen wraps are virtually indestructible. If you are looking for a sought-after, supportive and cool wrap, then linen is where it’s at!

SAFETY

Slings offer the greatest experience when used correctly. Please read the following advice and ask guidance if you have any questions about using a sling.

• Use common sense when using a sling: your baby’s safety is your responsibility.

• Before each use check your sling for any signs of wear and tear. Stop using immediately if you notice any damage.

• Ensure that your baby can breath normally: be sure that there is no fabric over his/her face or mouth, and their chin is not resting directly on their chest – there should be at least one finger width in between chin and chest.

• Ensure your baby’s head is well supported.

• Be aware of your baby’s body temperature when using a sling. The sling provides extra layers of fabric and therefore warmth for you both. You will probably need a layer or two less clothing than normal. Make sure your child has something warm for their legs and feet if necessary.

• Be aware of any objects your child can reach (hot or sharp objects).

• When using a wrap, always tie securely with a double knot.

• Avoid strenuous activities when wearing your baby.

• Do not use in place of a car seat.

• Pay particular attention when near open flames.

• Do not drive machinery or a vehicle or ride a bike when using a sling.

• Do not leave a sling around your child unsupervised.
